The auction of 26GHz spectrum arranged by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (TRAFICOM) was concluded on 8 June 2020, the same day as it started. The band 25.1-27.5GHz (a pioneer band for 5G networks) was auctioned in 3 blocks (800MHz each) with a spectrum cap of 800MHz. The auction format was a Simultaneous Multiple Round Auction with Switching (SMRA+S). The winning operators are Elisa Corporation (25.1GHz-25.9GHz), Telia Finland (25.9GHz-26.7GHz) and DNA (26.7GHz-27.5GHz). The auction generated EUR 21 million in revenue to the state. Auctiometrix (together with Specure GmbH) advised TRAFICOM on the implementation of the auction and provided the Electronic Auction System.
