Prof. dr. Maarten C.W. Janssen

Prof.dr. Maarten C.W. Janssen is a Professor of Economics at the University of Vienna, an Honorary Professor at Higher School of Economics, Moscow and a CEPR fellow (London). He is an elected foreign member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities and a Distinguished Visiting Austrian Chair Professor at Stanford. Maarten Janssen was previously a professor of Erasmus University Rotterdam and director of the Tinbergen Institute. He has extensive experience with providing economic advice to companies and a particular expertise in telecommunications markets, where he advised operators all over Europe and North America in spectrum auctions and on a wide range of regulatory issues. In 2001 Maarten was asked by the Dutch Parliament to lead a group of independent experts to evaluate the Dutch 3G auction. He has published extensively in top international journals on auctions.
